ALLBIRDS PACKAGING COMPETITION
In February 2020, I competed in a Sustainable Redesign Competition for leading green shoe company, Allbirds. Bringing home the "Audience Choice Award" and a Second Place spot, our team was able to produce thought provoking concepts to the Allbirds Design Team along with Co-Founder, Tim Brown.
My team and I were tasked with taking the current Allbirds packaging approach, and lessening its environmental footprint with two different approaches. The first of which implemented small changes from their current footprint; while the second pushed the boundaries of what is possible in their retail stores. With just 24 hours spent our team was able to come up with two concepts that challenge the way we think about packaging. In the simplistic approach we were able to reduce their material by 19% and create a die cut pattern that allowed for minimal manufacturing cut waste.

THE TEAM
We were assigned to a random team of cross disciplinary majors and experience levels. This group displayed an impressive ability to work as a team and truly was one of the best group efforts I was fortunate to be apart of. Being the most senior in the group, I stepped into a leadership role and helped to keep us on track, make sure everyone had a voice, connected all decisions back to our design goals, and helped present our final concepts at the competition.
